Multi-Pin Bases

Photron's Multi-Pin BasesMulti-Pin Bases

Multi-pin bases are products in Kodial Glass (Schott 8250 + 8245) in a wide range of sizes and configurations.
They are used in electron tubes of all types such as X-Ray, photomultiplier, hollow cathode lamps and other specialist tubes.
Base diameters range from 12mm to 75mm and pin diameters from 0.5mm to 2.5mm which have from four to twenty-one pins per base.

Bases are fabricated to customer's specific configurations, all tooling being made in house, resulting in fast turnaround times and competitive prices. Large production quantities can be handled as well as small development batches for customers' new product developments.

Glass to Metal Seals

Tubular glass-metal seals of the Kova-Pyrex type are produced in a range of sizes from 1/8" to 4" (3mm to 100mm)
The glass to metal seal is a matched seal in which kodial glass is sealed directly to an iron-nickel-cobalt alloy (Kovar) tube, having a similar coefficient of expansion. A graded seal is then fabricated to Pyrex or Quartz glass.

Extended seals are also produced with a quartz termination and non-standard diameters are available by forming the "Kovar" sleeve from sheet material. Seals can also be supplied, welded into vacuum flanges.
